The Oscars' Best Picture Update
Nominations for the 78th Annual Academy Awards were released this morning. For complete coverage, use this link. Tonight, our "JVC Goes to the Oscars Film Festival" will see the first of the five best picture nominees, Brokeback Mountain. See details in the sidebar or in the Evite you received last week.
Later this week, theaters will release their showtimes for next Tuesday, when we will gather to see one of the other four nominees for Best Picture: Capote, Crash, Good Night, and Good Luck, or Munich. An Evite will be posted as soon as we have selected a showtime and theater. Hope everyone can make it out to see these great films!
As another update, the showing for the second week of February will be either Monday the 13th or Wednesday the 15th, to avoid competition with Valentine's Day. We are a club that supports spouses, partners, and students, so we wouldn't want to conflict with anyone's romance!
